CLEANING

To remove sweat, dirt and oils, dip the jewellery in a solution of warm water with a little mild dish soap and rub gently, rinse (being mindful of sink drains), and pat thoroughly dry with a soft cloth. Avoid using paper towels or tissues as they may scratch the jewellery.

You can also gently polish clean pieces with a silver jewellery polishing cloth, making sure to avoid intentionally oxidized areas and stones.

Tarnish:
Sweat, air, and moisture can contribute to dull or tarnished silver, but proper cleaning, care, and storage, can help your pieces maintain their lustre.
While some brands may use confusing or misleading language to tell you otherwise, tarnish/oxidation is part of Sterling Silver’s life, and it does not indicate poor quality or damage the jewellery. You may also find that the more you wear your pieces, the less they tarnish.

JEWELLERY CARE

  • Please be mindful of textured detail that may tangle or catch on clothing fibres or hair if care is not taken.

  • Remove jewellery before sleeping, exercising, bathing, swimming, or going to the beach.

  • Avoid direct contact with chemicals, perfumes, hairspray, and cosmetics. Allow products on the skin to dry completely before wearing your jewellery.

  • Jewellery pieces are small and can be a choking hazard, so please ensure they are kept away from children and pets.

STORAGE

The jewellery boxes you receive your pieces in are intended to be kept and reused as a safe and tarnish-resistant place to store your jewellery for years to come. Alternatively, store your jewellery in an airtight bag in a cool, dark place. Keep jewellery pieces separate to avoid scratches and tangles.

SHOWERING WITH SILVER

It’s generally recommended to remove your silver before showering as humidity and contact with water can accelerate the tarnishing process. However, it is okay to occasionally wear tiinyworlds jewellery in the shower as it can help to remove sweat and oils from the jewellery, but you must follow a few important steps:

  • Be mindful of edges that may catch on hair, skin, or towels.

  • Only use gentle or natural soaps and shampoos, avoiding harsh chemicals, bleaches and dyes.

  • After your shower, it is essential to rinse the jewellery and thoroughly pat dry with a soft cloth. Soap and product residue and even water left on the jewellery can cause problems.

We DO NOT advise wearing silver jewellery in baths, pools, hot tubs, or the ocean and lakes. Please be mindful of drains, and any jewellery that could come undone or fall off.
